  • Participate in local Food Security Coalition and work with local Cooperative Extension to improve nutrition knowledge and skills among clients of area food pantries.

  • Co-facilitate Trim Kids program, a 12 week interdisciplinary childhood obesity treatment program for children and their families at the Bath YMCA.  The program includes a team of exercise specialists, registered dietitians and psychologists.  Throughout the program we promote healthy eating, exercise, and lifestyle strategies that the entire family can embrace.  Check out the Bath YMCA website for more information: http://www.bathymca.org/

  • Partner with the Maine Center for Public Health and the Maine Harvard Prevention Research center to launch Starting Young.  This project is designed to assess nutrition, physical activity, screen time and other health behaviors of staff, parents and children at 3 area head start centers.  The information is now being used to provide education (i.e. supermarket tours, physical activity trainings), equipment (exercise balls, books) and other resources to improve the health of head start families and staff.

Provide Action Packets, which are step-by step,
